Jet Set

I’ve been lucky to travel a lot. It’s addicting and necessary if I want to see my family and many of my friends. Over time, I’ve developed a fascination with the transportation facet of travel in addition to my extant interest in the destinations of that transport. Retro travel advertisements especially does things to me. With their saturated colors and frequently politically incorrect portrayals of foreign locales, they communicate and sense of adventure that must have been intoxicating before everyplace became so thoroughly connected.

A series of travel posters seemed like an obvious project that marries the golden age of travel with my attempts at graphic design. I hope to focus on places and companies that no longer exist, at least by their former names, and recapture the romance of visiting some strange place.
