Regina Spektor: Three Solid Songs
IGIF brought my attention to Regina Spektor’s “Oedipus” a few days ago. It’s already gotten a fair number of plays, possessing as it does all of the quirkiness and charm of Begin to Hope.

Another Spektacular song is the Amnesty International cover of John Lennon’s “Real Love”. There’s a spine-tingling video of Spektor performing the song at Bonnaroo, and the studio version is equally incredible. Finally, I came across Spektor’s version of the “Weeds” theme song while looking for more of her covers. Weighing in at 54 seconds long, it’s a great little gem that will make a good filler on mix tapes for years to come. Enjoy these three songs!

Regina Spektor is one of the best artists of the time, although I prefer her previous albums, like 11:11, soviet kitsch, and songs, her newest album seems to be going astray from her self beat, unique sound, but still good none the less.
