Wallpapering
This is the Wallpapering project page. Creating a pattern that could be tiled was one of the first “advanced” Photoshop techniques I learned. While quite simple, it’s deeply satisfying to when used tastefully. Plus, it’s a big file size/bandwidth saver.
Beyond web considerations, I find wallpaper enjoyable on many other levels. It’s a restrictive medium that demands symmetry while also requiring enough variation to be eye-catching. That said, it’s also versatile. It can stand alone as wrapping paper, or it can be used to add graphical interest in the background of a portrait.
Through the Wallpapering project, I hope to develop wallpapers that can be used as elements in other works and also stand alone as legitimate works of art themselves.
